Pen Kalamkari Cotton Dupatta

Kalamkari - ‘Kalam’ is the Persian word for pen, and ‘kari’ in Urdu asserts craftsmanship. Kalamkari is no mere penmanship, it is pencraft: there exists within its motifs an artisanal soul, an aesthetic "rasa". By naming itself a craft, Kalamkari proudly proclaims that, whilst there may be faster ways to decorate textiles, there remains an inherent distinction in this artistic ethos. 

These Dupattas should be a quintessential part of any textile-afficianado's wardrobe: in a time of block/screenprinted kalamkari lookalikes, true handwork has become a rare find!
